Marrow Registry Drives
Our first bone marrow registry drive was held at North Park in Denham Springs on Saturday, March 12th. We signed up 71 new members to the registry — that’s 71 lives that could be saved due to the generous acts of kind people willing to help a stranger in need!
We’re now beginning work on our next drive, at LSU on April 6th (click for more details on the exact location and times).
We need your help! Please leave a comment including your email address if you can help with any of the below tasks or email us and either Laura or Becky will get back with you on details. Here’s what we need:
- Volunteers to help man the tables - We need at a bare minimum 6 people in the morning and 6 in the afternoon to help us out. Thanks to Heather W., Lorraine C., Kerrie H., Connie J., Jean and Glenn F., and Suzan P. for signing up! Can anyone else help us out, either from 8:30 to noon or 11:30 to 3?
- Assistance with getting the word out to potential donors – We need to publicize this by Facebook, word of mouth, distributing flyers, sending emails, etc. We’ll have flyers soon and if you can help get them posted at your office, in your church, etc., it would help us a whole lot!
- Help with getting media attention – know someone at a TV or radio station or a newspaper? Everybody knows somebody who knows somebody else, tap into your network and see if someone can help! Thanks to Liz V. for arranging for free billboard ads from Lamar! Does anyone else have a media contact?
- Come out and join the marrow registry – the most important one of all!

I am attempting to sign up for the bethematch training. I am having some difficulty finding the specifics (time/date etc.). I know that you mentioned this on Saturday. Sorry for my weak memory.
I found the information on the homepage. Please sign me up for training on Feb 15.

Is north park thing to see if u could be a match for him? I would love to see if I am a match for him!
What if we have parent consent? My mom is all for it.
I can help with at the registry site on April 5 and possibly April 6th. I stopped by at the North Park location Saturday and signed up as a volunteer. Please let me know when/where for April 5th.

I work for Greystone Country Club in Denham Springs. If you can email me the flyer I would be happy to send it out to all of our members and residents, as well as put some in the Clubhouse.
